Duaa Abu Hamza Thumali – Reflection 16

“O’ The delight of the eye of who sought You for refuge and dedicated himself to You! You are the well doer and we are the sinners, So pardon, O’ my Lord, the ugly that we have with the beauties that You have!”

Allah Allah, this sentence is driving me mad! Ah ah ah! What if we decided to dedicate ourselves to Allah? If you show some dedication and attention to a dog it will stand by your side and face even death. If you show some affection to a lady she will become a butterfly hovering around you. But what if you dedicated yourself entirely to Allah whose Generosity knows no boundaries? What would He do as an answer to such a dedication? Just thinking about it drives the intellect crazy and intoxicates the heart!

Take the ugliest woman walking on earth and dress her in the best clothes and apply some make up and she will be become a supermodel. If some clothes and chemicals can make a ugly person physically beautiful then what could Allah’s mercy, grace, beauty, light and love to a sinning soul?! Even a shadow becomes illuminated in the presence of a candle, then what about our dark hearts blackened with sin in the presence of the Light of the heavens and the earth?!

Ya Allah, give us the blessing of becoming dedicated to You, could there be anything greater then that?!
