“What motivates and dares me to disobey You is Your patience with me, and what invites me to the lack of shyness (from You) is Your protection of my (concealed) sins. And what rushes me towards Your forbidden actions is my awareness of the vastness of Your mercy and the greatness of Your forgiveness.”

(Imam Sajjad(A), Duaa Abu Hamza Thumali)

I don’t understand mankind. Allah is patient with us so we abuse this by neglecting Him and treading upon His right. Allah is merciful so we waste His mercy on our sins. SobhanAllah what spiritual heights we would be able to reach if all Hi…s mercy didn’t go to cover our sins but rather lifting us up spiritually. If we abstained from sin then His mercy would be the wings that made us ascend to the Throne and hover around His holiness and annihilate us in the presence of the glory of His face. We would then be revived by His merciful breath and live through that among the creation, spreading spiritual life and light among the spiritually dead walking around in darkness.

Oh if we would just step out of the dungeon of sins which we have trapped our own souls in and liberate ourselves from our egos and become free in a spiritual sense so this flight would be possible!
