The Prophet

The heavens split asunder
the holy spirit descended like thunder
sinners and demons put to shame
extinguished was the worshipped flame

a lonesome man retired to a cave
his soul to the Beloved gave
surrendered his will to the King above
awakened he was to the echoes of love

“Read in Thy Lord’s name” the archangel said
a mountain of pressure on his shoulders was laid
burning passion into his heart was cast
elected he was to a message that would last

hundreds of idols shattered for One
the Truth had come, falsehood was gone
of grief Satan rolled on the dust
saved was man from the shackles of lust

baby girls alive were buried
to their rescue this saviour hurried
black and white did no more exist
all he tenderly embraced and kissed

at the end of the tunnel he was the light
the hero who would for all oppressed fight
a moon he was reflecting the godly sun
the hearts of the orphans and poor he won

in yearning his spirit was set free
away flew the fountain of harmony
a mercy he was, sent to the world
his soul engraved in the divine word

O Muslims, do you not feel shame?
your Prophet is Muhammed, unite in his name!
