No Comments Intoxicated by Love

Article written by the brilliant Ehsan on the 19 Dec 2003 in Poems 2003

In a land filled with passion
where wild fantasies danced
and pure love flowed like rivers
an innocent soul walked slowly
with her naked feet on the sand
leaving every particle in longing
to be brought to life by her touch

A kiss I sent as my messenger
but she had no lips for mine to meet
yet I felt them silently whisper,
”…love me…”

I forgot God and became a drunk
an idolater prostrating to the wind
that once had merged with her words
I dressed myself in the roses and lilies
that she had rested upon in the garden
I filled a cup with her intoxicating smell
and poured it upon my thirsty heart

Everywhere I threw my sight
my eyes landed upon her face
like a pillow they rested in comfort
as she gently stroked them pure
with her soft unseen hands

Her eyes I have never seen
neatly hidden behind the veil
yet I long to kiss every lock of her hair
and like a lost wandering soul
roam through the depth of her mystical valleys

I once saw the spark in her glance
in the eyes of a lovely gazelle
like a panther I rapidly embraced it
but the wind of imprisonment
quietly blew out its candle
I let her go and she flew
more vividly then a contrast
singing melodies of love for me to catch
as I drowned in an abyss of desires

She saw how my heart had opened
as the full moon does at midnight
gazing upon her beauty
with a gesture of her tender finger
she made me whirl like a windmill
an enchanted bee I became
flying to the honey of her nectar
as she pulled me close with her smile

When my soul met hers it drowned
in a mythological sea filled with
white milk, phantom colours, ecstatic aromas
and tasted the ultimate pleasure
annihilated in love, melted like stearin
then resurrected to eternal life

Such is the power of love
realization of dreams
Now I am sober
there is only the hangover
and the memory of love..
